Addictive! However.. August 16, 2010 joe_upthesaints As I first picked up my Powerball I found I couldn't work it! I pulled the cord and began to viciously rotate my arm and the movement of the gyro soon stopped. But after 10 minutes practice (and a bit of research) I was spinning it properly. In the first week of use I feared attempting to speed it up too much. This is due to the fact that my grip did not feel strong enough and as it says in the box 'DO NOT DROP THE POWERBALL.' After daily use, I now feel confident with trying to hit the higher speeds. My grip feels stronger, showing there has been an effect.
However, on one rainy day I had a friend over and on seeing the Powerball, he rushed towards it to have a go. He picked it up and slowly released the chord so that no movement continued. I then set it up again and started the Powerball myself. After increasing the speed slightly, I handed it back over to him. He instantly began to try and hit top speeds. Suddenly he lost grip of the Powerball and it hit the floor. I knew that dropping the item would affect its performance so I picked it up to check it was OK. But now when working at speeds of 6000+ there is an annoying clicking. I have searched the problem and it says with regular working at high speeds, it may fix itself. But I was particularly annoyed with my friend who had dropped my Powerball after 2-3 weeks of ownership as the Powerball is not yet working 100% and maybe it never will.
I highly recommend purchasing a Powerball and also highly recommend not dropping it.
Perfect Gift! August 15, 2010 Enzo88 Not sure what to get as a gift, the powerball is a great little gadget that is a fun workout tool to strengthen the biceps, triceps, forearm, wrists and fingertips. After using it for 5-10 minutes, you can feel the aching sensation you feel after a workout at the gym.
There is also a counter to help keep track of performance.
Overall, a nice gift.
wow!!!!!!!! August 15, 2010 H. painter what can i say? i so wasnt sure about this ball. really how good could it be? well its amazing both my husband and i have problems with out wrists, sorry let me rephrase that had problems. after one use we both saw a huge difference and have almost no pain after 2 or 3 goes and now there is nothing! i was so amazed with the results after such a short time.
easy to use and fun to in a way! so worth the money and time which is little of both!
a useful gadget August 13, 2010 mukhtiar A must have little gadget for everyone. I couldn't even make it work first few hours but learnt it afterwards. I can feel the difference after having powerball. First, after coming from office i was under pressure and stress and now in a matter of minutes everything vanishes. Thanks powerball. My friend who is recovering from hair line fracture in his hand tried the ball and was quite positive about it. Its been bit loose after using it. Only know problem with powerball, its quite addictive.
Health hazard August 9, 2010 Hundovir (Sussex, UK) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I shall not be buying this product. According to retailer's own description:
"Powerball® is a dynamic and completely revolutionary new gyroscope that literally explodes with mind-numbing torque and inertia once you activate its internal rotor."
Anything that "literally" explodes is a hazard to health and should be withdrawn by Amazon immediately. I think it would also be of concern to the security services.
