Amazon in the UK will ship books, CDs and DVDs to most parts of the World but in general you buy at better prices from Amazon in the US or from Amazon in Canada. Of course, if you require region 2 DVDs then the UK is the best option.
IRISH SHOPPERS
I live in Dublin and up until recently I purchased cameras and a variety of electronic items on a regular basis from Amazon in the UK. Much to my surprise when I tried to purchase a Flash Card for my camera I discovered that Amazon no longer ship such items to the Republic Of Ireland. As both countries are in the EU I don't understand why they have adopted such a policy. They still do ship CDs, DVDs and Books to the Republic.
