Residents Of Brooklyn. Anyone Remember Garfield’s Cafeteria?
In the 60's my ,mother used to take me there,to meet my grandfather for lunch. It was on the corner of Flatbush and Church, as I recall. Close to Erasmus High, and the Rialto Theater. Garfield's was this huge art-deco cafeteria, two to three stories tall. with hundreds of communal tables. Buffet only, always jammed. The food was great! Garfield's doesn't exist anymore. I'd like to know when it was built and by whom, and anything else you'd like to add. Googling didn't help. I know you can! Thanks for the memories.

My dad used to talk about that place!! He went there a lot during college, i think. haha he’s the type of person that remembers every meal he ever had =p I would ask him some more about it right now, but he’s away on a trip…sorryyy =/
Of course I remember! I went to Erasmus and ate at Garfield’s everyday. it was a great place!
There is a web site with some old photos, including Garfields. Go to google and type in “old brooklyn photos” or “Brooklyncom”
Do you remember Ebinger’s? Sutters?
I remember it; my father used to take me there as a kid. I lived on East 21st Street, 131 building.
There may be a picture of it on a Brooklyn Historic site.
