Best way to hook up 4 x 2tb hard disk drives?
I would like to buy 4 x 2tb hard disk drives & pop them into a device which will keep my data safe and make it easily accessible. Does anyone have any suggestions? I’ve already seen this: http://www.drobo.com/products/drobo.php, but feel quite expensive. Alternatives please? Most of my budget will go on storage, so I need a relatively affordable solution. Well under £200 if possible.
Thanks.

Hi,
As you have listed you need a network attached storage unit (NAS).
There are many out there strting at about your £200 price range, a quick google for nas boxes will give you a guide.
I to am planning a NAS but I am not happy with the cheaper ones and the good ones are above both are price ranges.8-((
You need a quad NAS that will take 4 x 2TB drives, they are not so cheap I’m afraid.
Just check the reviews for the NAS servers, the buffallo one’s are quite good.
The cheaper ones can be noisy to plan an installation in a remote area such as a utility room or some such.
All you will need then is a network connection and some cat 4 cable to complete the server setup.
